Not Even One Drink?
I'd stopped drinking. Almost.
It had tapered off on its own, and then, when I became aware that it runs in the family and how much room it took up in my social life – groups are built on addictions, I realized – I stopped almost completely.
I drink now and then. "For special occasions."
But I'm realizing that even then, it does nothing for me.
The strongest and funniest conversations I've had lately happened without a drop of alcohol.
And if you need to drink to enjoy the people around you, it's the people around you that need changing.
