Personal data
This site collects the minimum needed for what it offers. Nothing is sold, nothing is passed to a third party for commercial purposes.
The data controller is ChezFilms, at the address above.
The contact form
The form on the Contact page asks for a name, an email address and a message. Those three things are used to reply, and for nothing else. The message is sent by email and stored on the site. It is kept for as long as the exchange and its follow-up require.
Sending goes through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France), which carries the site's email.
Comments
Every note and every journal entry can receive comments. The form asks for a name and an email address.
- The name is published with the comment.
- The email address is never published. It is only used to reply privately when the answer does not belong in the thread.
- The connecting IP address is stored with the comment, as protection against automated posting.
No account is created, and there is no sign-up: commenting leaves nothing behind but the comment itself.
Every comment is read before it appears. A comment you post is visible to nobody until it has been published, and it may be turned down without a reason being given.
A published comment stays online for as long as the content carrying it exists. To have it taken down, or to have the email address that came with it erased, write to nicolas@chezfilms.com.
The newsletter
Signing up to the newsletter uses a form that passes the email address to Brevo, which hosts the list and sends the messages. Sign-up is confirmed by a validation email: without that click, the address is not kept. Every send carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing erases the address from the list.
Audience measurement
The site uses Google Analytics to measure its traffic (page views, referrer, device). The data is aggregated and only serves to know what gets read.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising cookie and does no cross-site tracking.
Only two things are ever placed on your device:
- a technical session cookie, for the time it takes to send a form or a comment, without which the send cannot be verified;
- your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser so it can be given back to you. It never leaves your device.
Audience measurement sets its own cookies, described by Google.
Your rights
You have a right of access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection over the data concerning you. One address for all of it: nicolas@chezfilms.com. An answer comes within the month.
If you disagree with how a request is handled, you can refer the matter to the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.
Intellectual property
The texts, images and films published on this site belong to their authors. Any reuse beyond short quotation requires permission, which is asked for at nicolas@chezfilms.com and is usually granted.
