Scientific Pitch Coaching – Institut Curie
Three PhD students from Institut Curie were preparing for the EU-LIFE Pitch Competition, a science communication contest open to European researchers. Their work focused on intracellular drug transport in cancer immunotherapy treatment – a technically dense subject, to be made accessible to a non-specialist jury. The session helped identify the central message, organize existing elements – theatrical performance, scientific data, slides – into a narrative structure, then stage the presentation: transitions, scenography, spatial progression, integration of songs.
Science Communication Workshop – ANDCS
Facilitation of a “Science Communication” workshop at the 13th national congress of the ANDCS, the association of students in dual medicine-research programmes. The workshop showed how a narrative structure – the same as in Rocky or The Lord of the Rings – is a concrete tool for convincing an audience, whether jury, investors or the general public. It also addressed the specific barriers faced by scientific profiles: the fear of “turning into a salesperson,” or the idea that communicating means manipulating.
