I Wish I Had Been Jeff Bezos

Going to see my actor friends' plays when I was in acting school put me off low-budget theater, and even theater altogether. These days, either I go to the Comédie-Française to see the classics, or too bad: I watch Netflix.

So it was more for a night out with friends that I tagged along to see Arthur Viadieu's I Wish I Had Been Jeff Bezos at the Théâtre de Belleville, with my buddy Bob Levasseur. I wasn't expecting much. And it runs an hour and a half.

It's become my favorite play in the whole world.

Everything: the subject, the writing, the staging, the acting of the whole cast. I didn't want it to end. I laughed, I was moved, I learned things. It restores your faith in creative work. Bravo, friends.

So don't miss them while they're at Belleville.

UPDATE: Missed them? They're back at Belleville in October 2023!
