What The Heck Is Art Anyway?

I discovered this guy the day before yesterday in this video. He's become my favorite human being. (I hope I don't find out he's a crook... He doesn't look like one. You'll let me know.) French only, sorry.

The example of the Sámi hunter caught my interest, and then he won me over: art as lavish spending, the role of aesthetics in society, its link to the divine, to politics, to industry. I found all of it fascinating. Worth watching, and thinking about.

UPDATE: I'm told he went to prison in his youth for robbing banks. Few philosophers live their philosophy all the way...
